Evaluation

Overall I feel that the remake of Vlad the impaler that we created was an overall success. At the start of the project I thought that the editing was going to be the most challenging part, mainly because that would be the part of the preliminary task that will put all the work together and would have to be perfect. However once we got to the filming stage of reconstructing the video i found that filming the shots was definitely the hardest part of this process. It was quite difficult to get the cinematography perfect for example tracks were hard, mainly because a lot of the tracks that we used in our sixty second reconstruct were backwards and therefore it was difficult to keep up with the speed that our "Vlad" had to walk at.
During this task it was difficult to get continuity throughout the video. This was because our group slip up and filmed in two different places therefore in the editing process the scenes of the video that were meant to be filmed in the same filed looked different because they were filmed in two different fields. Which lost a bit of the effect for the video. Also a few shots were missed which meant to timings of our shots did not match perfectly with the original music video. These mistakes have been good to have because it means i can do things differently in my real A2 product. For example I will make sure that all shots that i need to film in a certain place will be done in the exact same setting that i choose so my video will not lack continuity. I will also make sure that the shots i include into my story board will all be completed in the filming process which will hopefully make it look more professional.
This experience has been really helpful and it has also been very enjoyable. It was a good thing to do because before we did it i thought that making a music video or a film trailer would be quite easy. But now from doing this task it has helped me to understand how much work is going to be needed in order to complete next year. It has also helped me to know the intensity of filming and how much work that process takes.
I think that our product was very successful. I am proud of what we all accomplished during these three weeks. There were some improvements that needed to be made but over all i am happy with the outcome. We all managed to include all of the important shots into the video and the Mise-en-scene and Cinematography were all very similar to the original video. There were flaws but it still all came together quite well. Bryn who played Vlad in our video also made it look better because he looked the part and was also good at portraying the character of Vlad, therefore making it look more effective. Also the locations that we filmed in were quite similar to the original video which all made it a more successful video. However there are criticisms that can be made of our work and could be improved . But these give us a chance to make sure we don't make the same mistakes in our A2 Product.
I am excited for next year after completing this transition task. However it is also quite worrying because a lot of hard work is going to need to be put into it. But completing this task has been helpful and has given me more confidence that i will hopefully be able to create a good piece of work next year.
What i like the most about my final product is seeing it come together after all the hard work and being proud that it does share similarities with the original video. The thing i like least about the video is the props and costume could be improved and the continuity of the shots could also look better. But all together i am proud of the work that our group has produced.
